** Weshalb um alles in der Welt diese völlig überflüssige Version des Gershwin-Klassikers den Weg auf Barrys "Swing Street"-Compilation gefunden hat, ist mir vollumfänglich schleierhaft. Der feminine Part fällt in meinen Ohren vollumfänglich durch. Manilows Werkbeitrag rettet das Stück knapp vor dem Totalabsturz. | |
*** auch wenn Stan Getz als "Retter" eingesetzt ist..schwach! | |
*** Das chillige Saxophon-Intro verheisst Stärkeres als das, was dann effektiv folgt. Eine träge Gershwin-Interpretation, die aber immerhin Manilows breites musikalisches Spektrum demonstriert. Zäh! |
