This is great, but I do prefer this original. The buildups are done well and the breakdown is nice, but doesn't compare to the 'breakdown' of OneRepublic's.

EDIT: 2 years on and it's starting to lose its shine. And I have ALWAYS preferred the original for the record. Still one of his better efforts.

De laatste tijd vind ik OneRepublic's muziek toch wat minder, maar Alesso heeft van 'If I Lose Myself' toch wel een lekkere remix weten te maken. Ruim voldoende!

It slows down the original too much and the breakdown is rather average.

With recent exposure I really can't stand this, absolutely awful and useless as both a remix and a track itself, and I can't think of a chart hit that offends me more. With this in mind I almost feel appreciative to "Red Lights" even, at least that had decent verses and wasn't a remix of a song from a band that undoubtedly should and can be doing much better things. And http://i.imgur.com/CpcAtjw.png remains disgraceful [s](and it's obviously only gotten worse since)[/s] (thankfully Australia eventually figured out their mistakes <3 :') [doesn't make this suck less though :D]). 1.5* on the basis that if the original didn't exist and if OneRepublic were not famous at all I'd likely be less bothered, but rounded down because I don't feel I should have to consider that :)

Le remix de DJ R-Wan est très réussi

This is poor. I liken it to the "Young And Beautiful" remix by Cedric Gervais. Alesso's production does not suit the song and the whole thing sounds messy and doesn't work. Inferior to the original.

It almost seems ironic that this remix that OneRepublic's label are really pushing, is of the song that first hinted to me that OneRepublic aren't totally incapable of not being boring, but that this is totally weak. Mind you, the original wore a little thin with subsequent listens, but it still had a pulse. Welcome to popular dance music (in Australia and the UK specifically every time) post-"Wake Me Up". I almost want to compliment it on being boring and slow paced because that's the only non-cliche it holds so as not to be insulting. 2.3

Btw me from three months ago, it's me again. Alesso actually isn't a member of Swedish House Mafia. Sorry if this ruins the "Under Control" review. Also, John Legend & Pharrell randomly have had two of the biggest hits in the last three months, and "Strong" goes top 5.

Funny how the breakdown is a lot worse than the original.

If you take a song I love, and remix is poorly, the results are going to be disastrous the majority of the time. This is no exception unfortunately. The tempo is way too slow and just makes the whole thing completely bland and (as others have said) lifeless. There's no way I can be rational about the rating or the track itself given the existence of the original. 1.2*

Schlechter Remix!

I'm hating how this great ballads are getting ruined by junked up junkies demanding to hear the lastest love song at noxious speed and sound level.
What's worse is these talented DJ's are staining there reputations forever and will be nothing more than gimmicks in a few years time (so let's throw them in with all the other fads of '05).
Radio at the end of the day is the main driving factor, toeing the line for the record companies.
Just plain over it, rant ended!

Un remix assez lumineux mais pas indispensable.

Is it worse then the original, of course it is but because I'm such a big One Republic stan it passes as above average overall. However I wouldn't care if it never existed which is what should have happened. 3.3.
